This week, our team met with Larry Mynar and Shane Fierge, the owner and VP of Heal-Corp, to discuss their work assisting victims of Hurricane Helene. Heal-Corp is a volunteer-based non-profit specializing in disaster medicine, with staff that includes trauma surgeons, emergency medicine instructors, and former military medics experienced in conflict zones. They provide rescue operations, temporary shelters, essential supplies, and field hospitals, and have supported efforts in the U.S., Haiti, Turkey, and Ukraine. In addition to medical care, they train locals to care for the injured.
Heal-Corp reached out to us for a mobile medical trailer to serve as both a medical operation center and command hub in North Carolina. With extensive experience in mobile medical units in conflict zones, where they provide surgeries and recovery care, their team trusted us to supply a safe, reliable vehicle for their mission. The trailer will specifically support efforts in the Green Mountain area, where mountainous terrain and damaged infrastructure pose significant challenges. The local sewer system is compromised, contaminating water sources, and many communities may never fully recover. Larry and Shane shared the heartbreak of seeing people lose their homes, belongings, and loved ones, with displaced children often becoming wards of the state. This profound need to restore dignity to those affected is what inspired Larry to found Heal-Corp.
We are honored we were able to aid Heal-Corp with their mobile medical trailer and support their mission to help those affected by natural disasters. We can’t wait to see how this trailer will help countless other communities in the future!
